This movie was made with Lego Studios, and was my first "complete," not-a-test film. I made it over a span of several months. It's a parody of Jurassic Park, condensing the story into about 7 minutes.. It gets pretty silly in some parts (i.e.: the explanation of how the dino DNA was obtained) but I made it up as I went, so that isn't surprising. (This was before I discovered the wonderful world of scripting and storyboarding.)
It was probably a little bit too ambitious a project to start out on, particularly with the Studios software, so it took me a long time to make. Lego Studios crashes frequently when handling a movie longer than three minutes, so half way through production, I lost all the editing and sound and had to redo it. The animation is ok, considering it is filmed at 7 frames per second. (The default for LEGO Studios.) The low picture quality is typical of Studios.
These are the reasons I decided to make a "special edition" of the film. It includes no additional footage, but the entire movie has been re-edited to use the original, uncompressed 320x240 footage that Studios shoots at instead of the inferior mpeg video it exports, which is about 1/4 the resolution. I also added much-needed scrolling credits and made a few subtle color adjustments. So without further ado, Cretaceous Camp!

Running Time: 6 minutes, 57 seconds
