Welcome to Sméagol Studios. This site was founded on February 1st, 2002. The purpose of this site is to display my stop-motion films, as well as some artwork; I also have written several tutorials and an FAQ page on brick filming. If you're here for the movies, head to the "Films" section. Enjoy! News 6/29/08 New Film! I have completed a new film, "Unrenewable," and written an article about the process of making it. Check them out on the films page. 6/7/08 New Tutorial (sort of) I finally got around to adding a tutorial I wrote on reducing the visibility of dead pixels in post-production, in the How section. I hope someone can get some use out of it! 5/7/08 The Making of Bane of the Sith I've written a making-of on the production of my Star Wars trailer, so if you're interested check it out. 4/21/08 Cashman I've added my winning entry for the THAC 5 contest to the films page. 2/06/08 The Oven A new short film, "The Oven," is now available in the films section. 12/21/07 HALO: Master Chief I've released a video for Black Turtle Media's Halo contest. See it now on the films page. 12/14/07 Star Wars: Bane of the Sith completed My latest film, "Star Wars: Bane of the Sith," is now available on the films page. 8/28/07 Same site, New Server. I've re-hosted this site on a new host with more space and bandwidth, so bandwidth issues should be a thing of the past now. The site is still accessible from the www.smeagol.co.nr redirect, but old links to internal pages will expire in a little over a month. This site is also accessible from the url www.smeagol.brickfilms.com now. 8/5/07 One movie. Twenty-Four Hours. I made a film for the Twenty-Four Hour Film Competition, in which the entire film had to be written, filmed, and edited in under 24 hour hours. The film is called "The Pepperonis," and it is available now on the films page. 7/28/07 Clone Trooper Down. I've completed a new film, for the LEGO Star Wars contest, called "Clone Trooper Down." It is available on the films page. 7/23/07 Crown of Syracuse posted I've finally gotten around to adding Crown of Syracuse to the site. So go see it on the films page now. I've got more films in the works which should be released in the near future. 7/8/07 New making-of article, more formats I've written a short "making-of" for Star Wars: An Ill-Made Weapon, and I've added Quicktime formatted versions of the three films in the Death Star Trilogy and Magic Edge IV. The article is available in the "how" section or through the film's page. Look for my newest film, Crown of Syracuse, on July 15th!
